Located in the Capital District of upstate New York, Cohoes City School District is a small city school district with a total enrollment of over 2,000 students. The mission of the district is to prepare its students for success in tomorrow's world. With the goal of immersing students in learning to become creative thinkers, life-long learners and effective problem-solvers, the ideal candidate is committed to student academic success.

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant at the Middle School and one for a Teaching Assistant in the High School. UNLESS APPLICANT SPECIFIES IN COVER LETTER A PREFERENCE; Applicant will be considered for both assignments.

Duties include working with individual students or groups of students on instructional projects or programs; implement and provide support for behavioral management strategies in instructional and non-instructional activities; assist students in the use of available instructional resources; serve as an appropriate role model to students; participate in staff development and training to maintain or develop increased professional capacity.

With the goal of immersing students in learning to become creative thinkers, life-long learners and effective problem-solvers, the ideal candidate is committed to student academic success. We are seeking highly qualified (NYS certified) applicants to apply to this vacancy – Special Education (ALL GRADES) OR Permanent Special Education OR Students with Disabilities (Adolescent Grades 7-12) OR Students with Disabilities (Middle Childhood Grades 5-9) However, we will consider individuals who are currently in the process of obtaining their NYS certification and will be certified by September 1, 2026.
